Speaking to the Police After DUI

In almost every case, it is in your best interest to uphold your right to remain silent when you have been arrested for DUI. The more you speak the more evidence the arresting officer has to work with. Every statement you make during your arrest can be used against you in a DUI case.

Respectfully decline all questions until you have a chance to speak with a Frisco DUI lawyer. When you are read your Miranda Rights, the first sentence they say is "You have the right to remain silent", so take advantage of this right and speak to attorney as soon as you can.

By asking you a line of specific questions, a police officer will determine if he believes you have been drinking. As an adult over the age of 21, you have the freedom to have a drink and still drive, as long as your blood alcohol level does not exceed .08.
